In recent years, we have hold several international conferences such as the “International Conference on the Achievement and Exhibition in Human Rights Education” in November 1998, the “International Conference on National Human Rights Commissions: Promoting and Protecting Human Rights in January 2001 and the Conference on Intergovernmental Relations” in June 2001. Moreover, the French Institute Taipei and us hold the conference on “Littérature et engagement. 2002: Année Victor Hugo” in April 2002. Furthermore, the Master program for political science has been established for ten years until 2002, we hold grand events and the conference on “The Development of Political Science in Taiwan: New Issues and Challenges.” in May. Numerous participants and scholars from all over the world participated in each conference and discussed with enthusiasm. Moreover, our department cooperated with Taiwan Political Science Association to hold the roundtable discussion and the fifth annual meetings together in December 2003.
